Fall Protection and Ladder safety training is essential in Ontario as it helps prevent workplace injuries and fatalities. According to the Ontario Ministry of Labour, falls from heights and ladders are among the leading causes of workplace injuries and deaths in the province. In fact, between 2015 and 2019, there were 9,241 accepted lost-time injury claims in Ontario due to falls from ladders, with 18 of those claims resulting in fatalities.

Fall Protection and Ladder safety training provides workers with the necessary knowledge and skills to safely use fall protection equipment and maintain ladders, reducing the risk of falls and other accidents. The training typically covers topics such as ladder selection and inspection, ladder set-up and use, safe climbing techniques, and fall protection measures.

In Ontario, employers are legally required to provide fall protection and ladder safety training to their workers under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Failure to provide adequate training can result in penalties and fines, and in some cases, criminal charges.
