Employers are responsible for ensuring that their employees who handle or transport dangerous goods receive TDG training, as required by law, to ensure Worksite Safety.

Proper TDG training is essential for maintaining a safe environment during the transportation of dangerous goods. It ensures that everyone involved in the process is aware of the hazards and risks associated with the materials they are handling and can take appropriate measures to prevent accidents and minimize their impact in case of an emergency.

Dangerous goods put people, property, or the environment at risk due to their chemical or physical properties. The hazards associated with dangerous goods greatly increase when they are moved or transported. Accordingly, Canada’s Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Act ensures public safety by specifying strict regulations that must be followed when transporting these types of materials.

Anyone involved in shipping or receiving dangerous goods requires training on TDG regulations and must be aware of what they are handling, what its hazards are, and what to do in case of an emergency. This TDG training course provides an overview of the TDG regulations and teaches how to recognize and handle dangerous goods, as part of optimal worksite safety.

You should ask your supervisor or employer about any special equipment or specific training required for handling and transportation of these dangerous goods. Once you have completed this course, you will be better informed about the importance of complying with the regulations for TDG and its role in Worksite Safety.
